Shameless self promotion
Over at Fistful of Euros, my review of Daniel Kahneman’s Thinking, Fast and Slow. Coming up here, far from the eurocratic business-class lounge of AFOE, my action-oriented Kahneman for Thugs post, at least when I get away from debugging Project Lobster scripts. Am I on crack, or does ScraperWiki’s datastore do an implicit cast to unicode strings on Python objects you send it?

“Am I on crack, or does ScraperWiki’s datastore do an implicit cast to unicode strings on Python objects you send it?” An unimprovable line of Charles Stross dialogue.
I like your review, particularly your four character types at the end. I was reading up on Edward Teller earlier today, and he strikes me a lifelong board member of Group Four. Particularly his sideline in using nuclear bombs for engineering projects, which he had an alarming amount of success pushing through the bureaucracies of the 50s and 60s.
He died rich in Stanford at the age of 95 after getting the Medal of Freedom from George Dubya. A future Kahneman-style vetting procedure may want to be on the lookout for adolescent poetry of the type read out at his memorial service by a grandson with a hilarious name and matching hair: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clzg3rtrcFc
